“The training building and the clubhouse were deliberately designed as a single whole and are covered by a single roof like a blanket. The training building has largely an outdoor climate and is limited to concrete perforated walls and a series of slim steel columns that support the slim, folded roof slab of concrete. The clubhouse, which features among others things a shop, a restaurant with kitchen, offices and changing rooms, has an equally rigorous concrete structure at its centre. In the various spaces within and around it, the concrete remains visible, but its cool materiality is dampened by the space’s finishing and layout.” (Tilke Devriese, Util, in: A+ Architecture in Belgium, 2015)
